SMT Pins for high power applications

TreadHead SMT pins are a cost-effective solution for high power applications. Designed, packaged and reeled for automatic placement on standard SMT platforms using Autosplice AutoFeeder, the TreadHead features a unique head design which creates an extremely strong bond to the solder pad and promotes automatic alignment, thus eliminating the need for secondary fixturing. High conductivity copper is used to maximize the current capability while minimizing the real estate required for the connection.
Products such as power supplies, DC to DC converters, motor controllers, automotive steering and power distribution centers all consist of control and power functions which typically consist of two PCB circuit substrates.
The design facilitates out-gassing during the reflow process crating vacuum under the head.

Autosplice's AutoFeeder Technology places discrete pins using standard flex cell equipment. The AutoFeeder utilizes the machine's existing electrical, pneumatic and wasteremoval interfaces. The self-contained unit mounts onto and removes from the machine exactly like the feeders of each equipment manufacturer. It thus creates a seamless "plug-and-play" compatibility in handling a variety of descrete components on Fuji, Siemens, Sanyo, Universal and other standard equipment.
